Digital Content Specialist

Portland Wheelers is hiring a seasonal part-time Digital Content Specialist

We provide social connection and joy through adapted outdoor biking experiences. We serve individuals of all ages who, for any reason, are unable to ride a bike on their own but still benefit from the time spent outdoors recreating with others.

The Digital Content Specialist (DCS) is responsible for gathering and creating content to promote Portland Wheelers’ work and inclusive outdoor recreation. The DCS will visit our ride events throughout Greater Portland to collect photos, videos, and short interviews. This is a creative position that welcomes a storyteller. You will identify the people and stories that are most compelling and have an eye for the angles that will resonate with the public. The DCS will work from a shot list to support planned marketing needs and also be able to identify high-value visuals in the field to capture the moments of joy that are part of every Portland Wheelers ride.

The deliverables of the DCS will include edited and “ready-to-post” photos, videos, and reels, high-quality assets added to our digital library, and other collateral production as needed. Content will be collected using your own primary equipment (camera or smartphone). Portland Wheelers provides supporting tech like a phone gimbal, pro-level Canva, and Adobe Express.

Our program mostly runs Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM. Hours can be flexible within those parameters. For students, we are happy to work around return-to-school dates. Ideally, this position will support us through our busiest time of the summer, including a large-scale event we are hosting in late August.

If you are interested in dynamic digital storytelling, building your portfolio, and capturing a fun, energetic program doing good in the community, we would love to hear from you! Please submit your interest and any relevant creative work samples to Executive Director, Pete Ryan, by emailing pete@portlandwheelers.org.
