They come to Portland Wheelers with an array of life experiences. Some have seen our trikes out on the roads and thought, “That is so cool, I want to do that!” while others are looking for a fun, engaging way to build a stronger community and fight social isolation in populations that are at a high risk. The kindness and generosity of our volunteers inspire us every day.

On-bike volunteers are trained to be pilots and safeties. They become confident and skilled at not only operating our trikes safely but at interacting with and enriching the lives of our wheelers, providing essential connection and friendship, all while sharing in the joy of outdoor recreation. 

Members of our Board of Directors volunteer their time to oversee and steward the future of the organization.
