They come to Portland Wheelers with an array of life experiences. Some have seen our trikes out on the roads and thought, “That is so cool, I want to do that!” while others like  to bike and are looking for an opportunity to share with others the joy of being outside on a bike. One thing our volunteers have in common is a strong desire to give back, or pay it forward.
There are many ways volunteers support Portland Wheelers.
On-bike volunteers are trained to be pilots and safeties. They become confident and skilled at not only operating our trikes safely but at interacting with and enriching the lives of our wheelers. 
Off-bike volunteers assist with bike maintenance, provide ASL interpretation to support our rides with deaf individuals, or help with other off-bike activities. 
Members of our Board of Directors volunteer their time to oversee daily operations and plan for the future of the organization.
